Letting Love prevail!

Good Morning! We are going to try this again. Just click it and be a follower of Gods Word. Ephes 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Now one thing that hindered me with my Recovery and can also hinder our Christian walk. Is resentments and hatred towards someone who has hurt us in the past. It can also be a present situation to. You see Anger, Bitterness and Hate, keep us from being all we can be, and all we are in Jesus Christ. You see all those resentments and hatred allowed me to hold on to the past. In Matt 5:44 Jesus tells us to, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. And believe me! This is not an easy thing to do. But we have to forgive these people for the things they have done to us, and try and Love them, just the same as Jesus has done for us. Which brings me to a little exercise you can practice the next time you feel Bitterness, Bitterness or Anger towards someone who has hurt you. Think about all the things you have done to Jesus. All the times you have turned your back on him. How you drive nails in His hands and feet on a daily basis, by the sins you commit. How for years you lived your life for yourself instead of for Him. And yet He still Loves you and Forgives you. That ought to make it easier for you to forgive that person that said something about you. The point I'm trying to make is Jesus cannot live in a Heart that is full of Anger and Bitterness. So today Let Love Prevail along with Forgiveness. And start letting your life move forward. HABD!

Have Courage!

Greetings! Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Man! Check that out. Are you catching everything said there? Even though God is talking to Joshua here. That statement is for all of us. I remember when I was a young Christian how when I was going to a Church function or someplace where I knew there would be alot of Christians, I would wear my T-Shirts and Hats that had all the Bible Vs and Slogans on them. But if I was going out in public to eat or Wal-Mart. That I wouldn't be caught dead with one on. Why? Not because I'm ashamed of my God, but because I was afraid of what people might say or think of me. God is telling us right here. There is nothing in this world or of this world we should fear or be afraid of. Because He is with us all the time and that we are to have courage and not be discouraged. See I was being afraid of people and what they thought. But today I have found courage in my God. I am not afraid to show where my loyalty is today. And that is to my Father in Heaven. So today, as you are getting ready to go some where and you pick up that Jesus shirt, but then you pick another one, because of where you are going. I'll be the first to tell you, You are a Wimp! Put that shirt on, go out into this world proclaiming who your God is and how he has changed you from a Wimp to someone who is strong in Jesus Christ. Have Courage, because God is always with you, He always has your back. Don't you know that, no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. (Isaiah 54:17) So Have Courage in your God today. For he is stronger than anything this world can throw against you. HABD!

ONLY!

Good Morning! In Luke Chapter 9 we are told of the story where Jesus feeds 5000 people. In Vs 13 the disciples answer Jesus, We have only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Do you ever feel like that, I know I do! But Jesus! I am ONLY one person, what can I do that will make a difference for your ministry. I think that is alot of the problem with Believers today.We don't have alot of belief in the Power of Jesus! Just as Jesus ONLY had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and fed 5000 people.He can take ONLY you,and use you to make a difference in someones life. And you see thats another thing we tend to do.Is think that because we don't have a ministry,or we are not part of a Church function or group,that we don't have alot of purpose in Jesus' ministry. But just as Jesus used ONLY those 5 loaves and 2 fish to feed 5000. He may use ONLY you to bring that 1 and ONLY person to Him. See that is another big misconception people have, is it is all about numbers. How many people did you help bring to Jesus! Let me tell you my friends, in your lifetime if you succeed in bringing ONLY 1 person to Jesus Christ, you have done your job. But if we offer ourselves like the loaves of bread and the fish to Jesus to let him use as he will. It will amaze you how much he can take, ONLY you and make a difference in so many peoples lives. So today remember it is not how many loaves you have or how many fish. It is ONLY how you present them to Christ to be used. Cause ONLY He can take them and multiply them into His glorious will. And remember it is ONLY you, who can make the difference in someones life today. And he will help you do it. HABD!

Still Happening!

Good Morning! Acts 17:16 While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. Sorry about yesterday,but I was worshipping the idol of sleep. Yes! Sleep can be an idol! Because in my case, yesterday I chose it over doing Gods work. Back in Pauls day it was not hard to see the idols people were worshiping, cause they were all over the city. But today Satan, our enemy is a little more suttle with the idols he lures us with today.Today he uses such suttle things as wealth, fame, power, entertainers and yes, even athletes to become more important than God and doing his work. Yes I even know people that sleeping so much interferes with God working in their lives. And lets face it guys and even the gals these days. How many of us were glued to the TV yesterday so we could see who's going to the Super bowl. And Super bowl Sunday, that's an idol all in its self lol! But the main thing Satan does by giving us these idols is it interferes with Gods Spirit working in our lives and doing his work so that we miss the one job,the most important job that God gives us,and that is to reach out to that person.That person who does not believe. To reach out with the love of Christ and show them, as Paul says in In 1Thess 1:9 to help people, turn to God from idols, to serve the living and true God. With so many idols and distractions in life today that is satans main purpose, to keep us from serving God. So today let us take a little inventory of our lives and see what idols we have that could be hindering us from doing Gods work. Because just as God is the same before, today and always! So is Satan and the idols he wants us to follow. HABD!

Serving Now and Large

Good Morning! Rev 22:3 No longer will there be any curse.(the one Adam and Eve brought upon us) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.Last night in our 12 step group we were talking about Service and Serving. Did you know that is our whole purpose.God created Adam and Eve with one purpose and that was to Serve and have fellowship with God.And then to serve Him by taking care of the Garden. But we all know what happened. That is why when Jesus came along He emphasized that we had to get back to Serving, not only God,but each other. This is our Job! To Serve! How many of you have this Grandiose picture of how Heaven will be? We will see all our friends there and sit around talking with our feet dangling in the River of Life! Well we will,Praise God! But we will also be there to serve.All of us will have our own jobs to do.Each one of us will be given tasks to do that suits our powers,tastes and ability. Uh Oh! Did I ruin your picture of heaven? Yea! we're all going to have jobs to do there. That is why it is so important we get this Serving thing down now.So when we get to heaven our Training is Complete. Cause I don't know about you,but when I get to heaven. I don't want to be doing something up there and have Moses or Abraham come up to me and say, Wait Son! That's not how its done! lol! So today let us Serve each other as Jesus served us.Washing each others feet.(John 13) This is our true job and purpose in life,Here and in Eternity! Service! HABD!

Commit Yourself!

Good Morning! Eccles 11:4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.A little lesson in farming today.When a farmer goes to plant seed,he always checks the wind.Because if the wind is to strong,it might blow the seed away before it has time to penetrate the ground and be fertilized.And in the same concept when he goes to sow the wheat or oats.He will not cut it down if there are clouds in the sky,and he thinks it might rain.Because the grain will get wet and rot.But if the grain is left in the field to long,it will rot anyway.Isn't that how a lot of us live our Christian lives? Waiting for the Perfect Conditions.The Living Bible translate this Vs that,"If you wait for perfect conditions,you will never get anything done." I know I am like that.I want conditions to be perfect when I go to share Jesus with someone.Or to be perfect so people will see how Christ is working in my life.But you see life is not perfect.That is why we must make a Commitment to Christ. Commitment is,Making an all out plunge of faith before you can be sure how anything is going to turn out.That is why the most important Commitment we will ever make is to Jesus Christ.It is through Him that we don't look at the conditions anymore. Because he gives us the strength to go ahead and do it no matter what the conditions.Life is about faith.Faith in our God! Faith that no matter what the Conditions are,that he will make it right if we just Commit ourselves to Him and his work.So today Commit Yourself to God! Because tomorrow the Conditions might not be right! HABD!

Dream Killer

Greetings! John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. When I was a kid I had all kinds of dreams that I wanted to be and do when I grew up. I'm sure you did to. And for some of us they worled out.But for some of us our live didn't turn out anything like we thought they would or had planned.You see God doe's want us to have a Happy and Joyis,Successful life. But you see! There is one whos whole purpose is to make sure we don't.And to do that He lies to us.Satan is the Father of Lies.And it is through the lies,he steals the things God wants for us. I know! Cause in the 8th grade he lied to me and told me that if I hung around with this crowd and smoked pot and drank,I would be COOL and well liked by everyone.But this one decision chandged my whole life forever and allowed satan to steal all the plans God had for me.You see it is up to us if we allow satan to steal from us.Yes even today we have the choice,by the way we live and the decisions we make.In Psalm 32:8 God tells us,"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;I will counsel you and watch over you." So today it is all about making a choice on who you listen to. The one who will tell you, Nothing but lies! Or seek Gods truth and Gods will for our lives. And it is never to late for this.Cause I have another piece of Truth for you. Our God and Father is a God of Restoration. If satan has been stealing from you,Look to God! He can help get back all those things satan has stole.Mainly your life. But thats another tex. So today don't believe any of satans lies.He only wants to steal your Joy,Kill your Dreams and Destroy your life.I know! Because I have been there,done that! HABD!

Getting it together!

Good Morning! Psalm 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. Let me ask you, Do you ever feel like you let God down? I know I have many times in my life. And I am kinda in a spot like that right now in my life. Nothing serious, I just feel I haven't been living to the full potential God wants in my life. So pray for me. But you know what? The one thing I love about our God is that, No matter what we've done or how we are failing him today. He loves us anyway! And no matter what we have done. He forgives us. But it is up to us to Get things back together. It is up to us to get our lives back right. I mean lets look at Peter,after Jesus' arrest Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 times. And lets face it if you deny knowing Jesus, you deny knowing God. But you know what? God forgave Peter and He went on to help build the early church.And he is still ministering to believers today through his New Testament letters. So if you are like me today, and you feel as if you have failed God. Then lets Get it Together! Let us ask God to forgive us.And then let us ask him for the help to forgive ourselves for what we've done. Cause let us remeber Guilt is one of satans biggest stepping stones in our lives. And then let us Commit our future to God! And if we turn from whatever it is that is making us feel like we failed. God will be there,not only with us, but we can also trust that He will help us also. So today lets Get it Together! Cause God didn't make No Junk! We may think we've failed,but in God's eyes all He sees is Jesus! Think about that today! When God looks at you, He sees Jesus, so how could you let him down? HABD!

What's in your mind?

Good Morning! Prov 4:24-25 Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Now these 2 Vs talk about keeping things from your lips and don't be looking at things that might temp you. But if your like me, I may not say something to someone, but I sure am thinking it. Or I see a scantly dressed woman and look away. But I still have thoughts in my head.And if God knows what is going on in our hearts, then He definitely knows whats going on in our minds. So what are we to do about this? I know for me it is something I have to work on,on a daily basis. On a daily basis, sometimes minute by minute.And I used to really beat myself up over stuff like this. But something we all have to realize is we are not perfect and never will be. That is why we have reminders like Rom 3:23-24 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.So whatever your thoughts today. Just remember God knows them to. So just try and keep those thoughts under control. But when they pop in there, and they will. Just remember to tell God your Sorry! He Understands! Hey I do it many times a day! Remember! Your not Perfect.HABD

Breaking the Chains!

Good Morning! Acts 26:29 Paul replied, "Short time or long-I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains." Paul was trying to convince King Agrippa here that he needed to become a believer in Jesus Christ.But little did the King realize he was in his own chains.You know Paul spent alot of time preaching the word in physical chains. But yet he was Free all the time.So many of us don't realize that we don't have to be in jail or prison to be prisoners.So many of us today are locked up in our prisons of self! Me included! That is far worse than any jail. Or prison. And I know, cause I have encountered both in my life. And this Prison of Self is far worse.Because even though we are Free,we are still a slave and in the chains of bondage to our own selfish desires and wants.And these chains can come in many different forms. Addictions to Alcohol and Drugs,Money,Sex, Power,Control.But it can also be things like lack of Self Confidence, Feelings of not Fitting in or Arrogance.But whatever it is,these are all Chains that keep us from a True Relationship with God. And there is only one who can Break those Chains.And that one is Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I found Jesus! That I was able to break those Chains.But the thing is,is there are so many chains to break. We as sinners create chains everyday,but that day will come when Jesus will come for us and there will be No More Chains! But until that day,Jesus is the Key! The Key to keep unlocking those Prison Doors of SELF! He is the Key to setting us Free from us.So today if there are some Chains that need to be broken,Look to Jesus! He will help you get out of those Chains! HABD!

What's your name!

"By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see & know was made strong. It is Jesus' name...." Acts 3:16a. So take a look in the mirror my friend, your name has been changed! Just like Abrams was changed to Abraham & Jacobs was changed to Israel. "God said to him, your name is Jacob, but you no longer will be called Jacob; your name will be Israel" (Gen35:10) When we received Jesus as our savior He took our name & gave us His! woop! We have been bought, remember!? We took a 'blood covenant' when He died on the cross for us & we said yes & thank you! I get so excited that my name has changed! I went from hopeless to hopeful ~ victim to victor ~ dirty to clean ~ lost to found ~ ashes to beauty ~ loser to winner ~ broken to blessed ~ are you getting an idea of what our new names can be? And dont ever forget the POWER in His name that becomes ours & we can make it ACTIVE in our lives! We are strong in His name, the name ABOVE all names.....Thank you, Jesus!

Its about Love

Good Morning! 2Corinth 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,that though he was rich,yet for our sakes he became poor,so that you through his poverty might become rich.Now let me ask you today,what if you had it all! All the money you needed,cars houses,just all that life could give.And your best friend needed your help.But to help him, you would have to give up everything.Could you do it? You know that's what Jesus did for us. He had it all, unbroken fellowship with His holy Father and all the riches of His heavenly divinity.To come down here and endure the suffering that WE so rightly deserve. His Love for us is unconditional! Look at what He has blessed us with,forgiveness of our sins,cleansing, fellowship with Him.He has made us heirs to the kingdom,through him,he has given us His Spirit so that we can have a personal relationship with God and have everlasting life in Heaven.That is Unconditional Love! With human love there is always an expectational of something in return.But unconditional love expects nothing. Riches are for sharing. And we will never be able to reciprocate to God all the gifts that He has showered upon us.But we sure can try. By giving of our time and talents,our energy and Yes! Even our money. Even our money and possessions. So today let us all show Unconditional Love.That same Love that Jesus showed us.So that through that Love people will see that we are His disciples by the way we love one another.(John 13:35) and them.It really is All about Love! HABD!

There is a Difference

Good Morning! Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword. You know if you are like me, you may wonder, Why Lord? Why did this happen in my life? Or why is my life the way it is right now? And I know we all ask the question Why would God allow that to happen? The thing is, we cannot confuse God with life. Things happen in life! That is why we must live on the Faith that, All things work together for the good to those who love God.(Rom 8:28) You see life is like stepping in the Batters Box in Baseball. You don't know what pitch will come next. So that is why we must practice everyday.We must practice spending time with God,reading His Word and praying, so that when life throws us a curve,we have the Faith to hit it out of the Park.Or if you are like me at least get a single so that my Faith will get me around the rest of the bases.So today if life is just not going the way you think it should.Don't blame it on God! Life is Life and things happen.But don't think you have to handle it alone.Because God is there! And he wants to be your Bat.And the only difference in life is your Faith in Him.So today! Come out swinging with your Faith! HABD!

Being in the Spotlight!

Good Morning! Matt 6:1 "Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men,to be seen by them. If you do,you will have no reward from your father in heaven. Lets look at something today. What drives you to do good things today? Be it to help somebody out financially or to help them in their Spiritual walk.Or just give them a ride somewhere.Do we do it because its something are Spirit is telling us to do or after we get done doing it,we can pat ourselves on the back,or say to God, Hey look what I did. I ought to get a BIG Blessing out of that.Or is it so when we get in our circle of Christian friends.Hey look what I did or look what I'm doing.I believe there are many in the Church Body that, the only reason they are there every Sun is so people see they are there. In Matt 5:16 Jesus tells us to just let our light shine. That light is him! When we do that people will see the Good Deeds and know we are doing them,because God's Spirit is driving us to do them.So that God himself will be in the Spotlight.So today when you do something don' let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Do it cause the Spirit is telling you to. And don't worry your reward is waiting for you.In Heaven! HABD!

Meaningless Life!

Good Morning! Eccles 2:10-11 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work,and this was the reward for all my labor. Yet when I had surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless,a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.Now King Solomon was a man who was convinced that he knew how to find Happiness.And believe me He had the resorces to pursue this thought. He had Wealth,fame, power,lavish houses and a reputation for wisdom. All the things that we pursue in our lives today. I know I am guilty of this. I am pursuing all those things that Solomon had,on a daily basis. Maybe some of you can relate? Even though we know God and have excepted Jesus as our Savior,we still think if we had a little more? If we had a little more money,if we had a little better position at our job? If we were the type person that everybody liked and wanted to be around. That are lives would be even that much more meaningful and happiness would just surround us. But don't be misled! Just as Solomon found out,we will find out to, that all those worldly things that we think will make us just a little happier are just like chasing the wind. They are Meaningless! The only thing in life worth pursuing is a Relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. This is what will give your life meaning, and where you will find true happiness. We will still struggle with all that other stuff, because it is in our nature. But beginning today if you make Christ the center and foundation of your life. You won't believe how Meaningful your life can be. HABD!

Seeking Things!

Good Morning! I haven't measured yet,but it looks like I have 6 to 8 inches of snow on the table on my deck. Which makes me WORRY if I will make it to work today. Is Worry a Big part of your life! In Matt 6:33 Jesus tells us,"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." You see that is one of my biggest problems. How about you? Jesus tells us the first and above all thing we should be seeking is Gods will for our lives, and doing that will. But if you are like me I get to caught up in worrying how I am going to take care of things,and get the things I need. You see those things that Jesus is talking about are the basic needs of life; food,drink,clothes and shelter.But if you are like me,these things I take for granted. I am seeking more.And in this seeking I forget all about God and his kingdom. And in turn his will for me.Jesus is telling us when we seek Gods kingdom first, we will find the path to true happiness. So today! What are you SEEKING? OK! Let me put it this way. Have you talked with God today? Have you sought through his word to see what he might have for you to do for him today? Or are you out there seeking on your own? HABD!

Choosing Wisely!

Greetings! 2Corinth 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? Something my Dad used to tell me and I really never understood it until I got into Recovery was,"People look at you and perceive you,by the people you hang around with!" And he was so right! For most of my life I hung around losers. People just like me, who's main goal in life was to get drunk and high and see how much trouble we could get into. Needless to say there were people who were uncomfortable around me,let along doing something like inviting me in their house or doing something like inviting me in their house. And it wasn't that I was a bad person, but I was when I got around certain people I hung around with.That is why when I got clean I had to make a decision.Was I going to keep hanging with the losers or start hanging with the winners.It wasn't till I started seeing that I could no longer hang with the people of my past,that Recovery was clear to me.Paul tells us in Rom 12:2 that we should be transformed by a renewing of the mind.And when the renewing takes place we no longer want to be the way we used to be. So then how can we still want anything to do with old,people,places and things that are associated with our old selves.Today I no longer want to hang with the losers.I want to hang with the people who know Jesus! Because in Him we are all winners.And we can all pray for those who don't know Him.That one day they will find that Transforming Grace that will bring them from the old to the New! HABD!

Am I Worthy? part 2

Good Morning! Man I don't know what I'm going to do Mon. Back to work! Back to the routine.But I kinda liked sleeping till 8 lol! Rom 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? You know one of Satan's biggest lies is to tell us,and to get us to believe that very statement. What a wretched person I am! And especially for us people in Recovery. He is constantly bringing up the faults of our past,and our faults today.It is True! I am a Wretched man! Because this Body I live in is ridden with sin. And Satan wants us to believe that we are not worthy to be a Child of God,because of that? But look at Vs 25, Thanks be to God- THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD! I capitalized that, cause that is the key, plain and SIMPLE! Jesus died for your and my sins. What we have done in the past and what we will do in the future. That doe's not mean there may not be reproductions and correction for our sins, but it doe's mean they are FORGIVEN! No ifs,ands or buts! So today don't believe the lie from Satan that you are not Worthy! Because even though we are Wretched, Jesus Christ makes us Righteous! So live in that Righteousness today! And know that whatever God is telling you to do today! That you are Worthy to be doing it! HABD!

Good Morning! Short but Sweet this morn,but one of my favorites. When I was up in the Half Way House at Christian Love,I had this on my door. So that whenever I left to go out into the world I would read it. I Think I need to put it up on my door here. Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make your paths straight. I think that's pretty self explanatory. God has a plan for all our lives. Today may we just stay out of his way with our own thinking and our way of doing things and try and just do His Will for our lives. Believe me! When I do this my life is a lot less complicated. HABD!

Who Knows?

Good Morning! First off I just want to say Thank You my Brothers and Sisters for all your input and help yesterday. And the Vs that helped me the most is Rom 8:1 Therefor,there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. But that's another text.Today I want to address something that was brought up in our 12 step class the other night. Matt 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour,not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,but only the Father. Yea someone brought up the fact that there had been a prediction that the world will end in May I think they said. It amazes me how people,mere men can think they can predict, something that only God knows. That someone is actually saying that they have figured God out and know when He is going to do something. LOL! LOL! I really do find that funny. But here is the Seriousness in all this. We don't know! That is why we must live each day,one day at a time and just like it is our last,(just our last here on earth) And if we are in the last days,what do you think is the most important the most important thing you could be doing today? Well its not getting your will in order,its not getting your hair done,so you look good for Jesus and its not counting up all the things you have done. So you can give an account,He already knows. The main thing we should all be doing is sharing Jesus and His Word with others. That is Why I Give You All A Big Thanks! Because you helped me see that no matter what mistakes I make, whatever sins I commit Jesus is there to cover them. And there is a Big World out there that needs to know that.So today lets get out there and help prepare people for His coming. By sharing His Word. I know Christ lives in me, cause even though I make mistakes and sin. I know God still loves me.and wants me to share that love. Yes Jesus is Coming one day.But today is the day the Lord hath made. Share it! HABD!

Am I Worthy?

Good Morning! Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were STILL sinners,Christ died for us. Sorry about yesterday,but what I'm about to confess is part of the reason there was no text yesterday. Well I have a Confession to make. Here in the last month I haven't been living to the standards God has set for us in His Word. And I have again hurt someone who is very,very dear to me. All because I am selfish. So yesterday I prayed for forgiveness and guidance. Because it was brought up,with this person if I am even worthy to share these texts with you each day. Now I have confessed my sin to this person and to God. And you see I understand God forgives me,even though it may take a little time before this person doe's. But this is my question, because I have sinned doe's that disqualified me from sharing the Word. With all of you each day! That is my question? For I know I am still a sinner.So today I am asking for your forgiveness and prayers. For there is always consequences for sin. And I am having to deal with mine now, and believe me its no fun.But I know God still loves me and would still want me to do this each day. So please pray for me. I am so sorry that I have failed again,not only to this person I love,but to y'all to. Its true what Paul says in Rom 7:21 So I find this law at work; When I want to do good,evil is right there with me. So pray for me the strength to fight this evil. HABD!

Purpose!

Good Morning! Psalm 27:11 Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. What is your purpose in life? Is it to be successful, maybe have a lot of money,or to be liked by everyone. But if you were like me, you didn't know your purpose. For yrs I searched for my purpose in life. I looked for it in Relationships,I looked for it in my Profession. I looked for it in a Bottle and Pills and all kinds of illegal activities and immoral living.But it wasn't until I realized that only God gives my life purpose that I found it. This is the greatest discovery I,or you will make in your life. That you were created to know God and to be his friend forever. Did you know that? God wants to be your friend? When I was young in catechism class we were taught that, "the chief end [or purpose] of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. You see God put us here for a reason,to have a relationship with Him.It is only when we see that we find our true purpose.So today don't wonder around with no purpose or direction. Pray and seek God's will for your life.Ask Him to teach you how to follow his direction. Then you will find the True meaning and direction for your life. Until you know God your life will have No Purpose! HABD!

Getting in Tune!

Good Morning! Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place;you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Have you ever heard a Piano or a Guitar that are out of tune? My Dad was a Music teacher and if there was anything that drove him CRAZY it was an instrument or even a person singing out of tune. And here is something I have learned now in my yrs of Recovery.Is that when we live apart from God, our lives get out of tune. We do not live in harmony with God or others.I know because for most my life I lived, Out of Tune with God. And my life was a disaster.One bad note after another! But just like the man with the Piano tuner or one of those new fangled electronic Guitar tuners,God gives us His Word so we can get in tune with Him on a daily basis.As this New Year begins may we all take it upon ourselves to get in tune with God.So we can sing a Joyful noise to the Teacher who helps to keep us in tune.And in turn when we are in tune with God,He will help us to bring Harmony and Joy to those around us.So today Get in Tune with God and you will find yourself surrounded by Beautiful music all day long.And that my friends is music for the Heart and Soul! HABD!

Resolution

Greetings and Happy New Year! In Colossians 3:16 it says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach an admonish one another with all wisdom. Well hear we are in another yr. Now starts the thinking process, Of what am I going to do to make this a better yr than last yr.Maybe your going to lose some weight? Maybe your going to exercises more. Maybe quit smoking? We all make Resolutions that we think are going to make our lives more fulfilling and have purpose. But you know one I hardly ever hear is,"I'm going to study The Word of Christ more this yr. Oh I hear it hear and there, but like most Resolutions. People go at it like a Whirlwind, but soon the Wind dies down. Resolutions are all about making a commitment. Principle 7 of the Celebrate Recovery 8 Principles states! Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination,BIBLE READING and prayer in order to KNOW GOD AND HIS WILL FOR MY LIFE and to gain the power to follow his will. You see reading the Bible helps us achieve this. And I'm telling you there is no greater Resolution you could make this yr than to Know God! And then know what He wants you to do in life. I know I harp on this all the time. To you all,to my 12step guys and to my Small group guys on Thursday. But the BEST Resolution you can make is that Principle 7. Make some time each day,be it morning or evening,or anything really. I like the morning cause it gives me a good start to the day and a better outlook towards it. But make a Commitment! It only means setting your alarm a 1/2 hour early! Sit and study the Word of Christ! It will give meaning to What God really wants for YOU in your life. And not only will it give you the power to carry it out,but it will give you the power to carry out all those other Resolutions you have made. If theres one thing I know we all need structure in our lives. God is Structure! HABD!
