Doing Nothing!

Greetings on this Beautiful Rainy Day. I say that cause its so nice to sleep with the rain pounding on my roof. But it makes me lazy and slothful and I have things I need to get done. In Prov 21:25 it tells us, The sluggards craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work. Webster's defines sloth as a "disinclination to action or labor; sluggishness, laziness, idleness." In theological contexts, SLOTH carries with it not only the idea of laziness in spiritual things. but also apathy and inactivity in the practice of our faith in our everyday lives. The slothful person is like a piece of driftwood floating effortlessly downstream with the current. It takes no effort, no strength to be lost. The piece of wood always goes downstream, never up. Likewise, a drifting slothful soul is inevitable moving toward an eternity of destruction. The sin of doing nothing-the sin of omission, is just as dangerous as any sin of action, of commission. You don't have to do anything to be lost, just do nothing. Just be slothful about your soul. Tragically there are many people who claim to be Christians or say they believe who are slothful also. or say they believe are slothful also. Slothful when it comes to prayer,or worship, when it comes to reading the Bible. witnessing for Christ, helping people in need, giving to charity,or giving to God's work. But the main thing I have seen with a stubborn, slothful spirit is it causes a great hindrance to receiving Jesus' forgiveness and transforming power. Don't let slothfulness become part of you life. Doing Nothing is easy! Being a child of God takes action! So today get out there and do something for God and HABD!
