Good Morning! James 1:22 Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. You know it was said to me one time, That sitting in a garage doesn't make you a car. And in this same way, sitting in church every Sunday doesn't make you a Christian. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't go to church. I am saying that if the only reason you do is to show people you do, you might want to check your motives. Just like going to Bible studies and reading Gods Word religiously. Without the right motives it is just as James points out here, Knowledge without Action is useless. Knowing who God is and how much He loves you without loving Him and obeying Him in return is empty. I have to admit there are times that I know I am not doing what God would want me to be doing, but that's Ok, cause at least I know that, that is not what I should be doing. After all, we are all a work in progress. For the one who truly believes Gods Word is not that person who studies it the longest or who argues most eloquently on its behalf. But it is the person who incorporates it into their life. I know here of late there are a few things I'm doing in my life that I am not being a Doer. But the good thing is I know it. That means I can do something about it. There are so many people out there today who deceive themselves because they know something is not right in their life, but because they go to Church or because they attend Bible studies it is ok, because I am still a Christian. God knows we can only do our best to follow His Word. So what I am telling you today is work on being a Doer of the Word. Do not think you are just because you know it. That is where I think so many people deceive themselves. All we can do is work at it, cause only Jesus perfected it. HABD!
