Good Morning! Ephes 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Something that has been said, And I find it so true is, "The only Bible some people will ever see or read is the one demonstrated in the life of a Christian!" This statement makes me worry sometimes. What do people see when they look at me? Do they see the Christ like traits described in Gala 5:22-23 like love, joy, peace or gentleness and self control. Or are they looking at me and going "Man! This guy is a Christian? He don't act any different then anybody else." This is a problem I have. I want to live a life that is true to Jesus, but the ways of the world sometimes are more important than that. But the thing is, as Christians we have to be very Careful. Because everything we are doing, there is always someone watching us. So I ask you, What are they seeing in you today. I try very hard everyday to let the Holy Spirit run the way I live. But at some point I fail terribly each day. That is why I always have to be on my guard against myself. For as Paul says in Roms 7 I want to do the right thing, but I don't. So it is important for us Christians to be on our guard at all times about the way we are acting. For you may be where you think no one is watching, but remember God is always watching. So something I try and put in perspective when I am out in the world. Is that, simple thing! God sees everything we do, and when we are out there, we are representing Him. So what He sees, others are seeing too! So what is everyone seeing in you today. Are they seeing the traits of Christ? Or just someone trying to be a Christian? Man that is one to ponder all day! HABD!
I know for me I don't go around telling people I'm a christian. I will tell them what Jesus means to me and what He has done in my life and what He can do for them, but I don't tell them "I'm a Christian" If they can't see that by the way I live my life then me telling them isn't going to make a difference. Does that mean that I am perfect or sinless ABSOLUTELY NOT, Do I fail sometimes yes I do!!!I just try and let my actions speak louder than my words, and hopefully my good actions. We went out with friends a few years ago and yes I had way to much to drink. My actions didn't promote a christian life. It is still very difficult for me to witness to them today because of my actions. Believe it or not that night really changed my life and the relationship I had with God. He does use all things for the good.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite songs if Do they see Jesus in me.
Is the face that I see in the mirror
The one I want others to see
Do I show in the way that I walk in my life
The love that You've given to me
My heart's desire is to be like You
In all that I do, all I am
(Chorus)
Do they see Jesus In Me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love, and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus In Me
Well It's amazing that you'd ever use me
But use me the way You will
Help me to hold out a heart of
Compassionate grace
A heart that You're spirit fills
May I show forgiveness and mercy
The same way You've shown it to me
(Chorus)
Now I want to show all the world who You are
The reason I live and breathe
So You'll be the One that they see
When they see me
(Chorus)
